Blood Apples (The Grimm Diaries Prequels #6)

In this short diary, Prince Charming tells how Snow White was really killed -- or was she? -- and how he came to meet Rapunzel and Jack the Beanstalk. Is it true that he really knows who wrote the original fairy tales and handed them over to the Brothers Grimm? And more importantly, Prince Charming explains why apples are red.

The Queen of Sorrow has locked her daughter in a tower. This was the world would not have to suffer the wrath of Snow White. Snow is guarded by the evil Rapunzel and her deadly plants. Also, we see that her golden hair is not quite long enough for someone to climb up.

Charming enlists the help of Jack, "the boy who walks on the clouds" to help him. Jack agrees to grow a beanstalk to the top of the tower when Charming agrees to pay him a sum of gold.

However, during the rescue attempt, a troll causes Jack's "girlfriend" the mermaid, Marmalade to escape with Snow. She promises to leave snow by the Fruit Goddess Pomona. This tree, I believe represents the true love between Charming and Snow.

Charming arrives to find snow poisoned and since life without her is not worth living, he kisses her, "killing" himself with the poison on her lips. Snow, being immortal, awakens and is heartbroken. She stabs herself. When Charming awakens, Pomona explains this to Charming and he is now destined to search for Snow.

We also find out that apples used to be white and why they became red. Also, the Queen has outlawed the color red for this very reason. I am not going to tell you, as you have to read the surprise just like I did.

Until Next time,
