Into the Fire

Into the Fire by Amanda Usen

Jackson Calabrese has a lot of nerve. He beat Lila Grant in the Culinary Academy competition using her recipes. Now, he’s opening a restaurant and wants her help? Fine, she'll fix his menu, but it's going to cost him.

Heir to the Calabrese restaurant empire, Jackson can buy anything he wants, except creativity, so he buys Lila's instead. He can craft perfect paella, but to take New York by storm he needs her innovative spark.

Skillets aren't the only things hot in the kitchen, and an uneasy truce ignites into passion. They’re great in bed, but Jackson doesn't trust her, and Lila is contemplating revenge. The restaurant opening approaches, the menu is completed, and the tables are set for one final act of betrayal. How can love bloom in the midst of such a hot mess?

Lila Grant has a passion for food. She can weave ingredients and make something that makes mouths water. There is one thing, besides food that makes her mouth water and that is fellow culinary student, Jackson Calabrese.   One night together has her thinking he used her to get her recipe for the competition the next day and him thinking that she lied.

Jackson doesn't think anything he does is good enough for himself or his father. Opening his new restaurant, he is certain that his menu is not good enough. He wants Lila to come and fix it, she has the palette, the creativity that he wishes he had.   She left after their night together and wouldn't speak to him after again, he wants to know why she lied and fled.  He wants her body just as badly as he did then, so he thinks maybe he can kill two birds with one stone and call a truce.

They hate each other but crave each other at the same time. The sex is hot and the fighting makes it all the sweeter when they give in to the temptation of each others bodies.  You'll have to read it to find out what happens when she stops fighting him and he gives into the lust the feels for her.
