The Lost Colony (Artemis Fowl #5)

One hundred centuries ago, humans and fairies battled in a fierce turf war. When the fairies realized that their struggle was futile, they tucked ethereal tail and retreated underground. Only the demons lingered above, plotting to regroup and resume the attack against humans. But their plot went asunder and these would-be revolters wound up in Limbo, where they stewed for 10,000 years. The spell that holds them, though, is degrading; threatening the perilous peace. Only Artemis Fowl, teenage criminal mastermind, and his old comrade, Captain Holly Short, stand between his people and a violent demonic invasion.

Here we have another story where on the mastermind Artemis Fowl could save the world.

We already know that there are several classes of fey. What we don't understand is there is another, more hidden class of fairies. Demons.

In this edition we see the following.

1. We are transported to a world in-between realities. Limbo is the home of the self exiled demons and their demented leader, Abbott. We get to five into the history and the wanton desires of a species that feels like they have been wronged.
2. We see there are two types of demons. The young, Imps and the adult version, demons.
3. Imp Number 1 is the key to the survival of the demon species.
4. Imp Number 1 and his potential secret leads Artemis to meet the female version of himself. Someone that will prove not only and intellectual foe but a pubescent attraction as well.
5. This adventure will lead us to a very confusing ending, that sets up the next book very well.
6. Oh, and the LEPrecon is not the only secret service helps the fey underground either!

I only have three books to go and I am excited to see where this goes!

Until next time,
