Anything for a Dollar

What would you do to make a buck?

They are the objects of desire—dancing on the bar or on boxes at circuit parties, performing for either the video camera or their own webcams, or coming to you for a night of passion at a price.

But they aren’t gods. They are men with needs and desires of their own, fantasy men with fantasies of their own. Some of today’s top writers of gay erotica take on the notion of using your body to make a living—and the result is a collection of erotica so steamy it might burn your hands.

Handle with care!

When I requested this ARC, it was more with a smile than a true desire to read it. Titles and covers are sometimes the only thing that draws someone to a book. Sure, Goodreads has the book description and even NetGalley had it for me. I read neither, relying only on the cover to form opinions.

First, I honestly had no idea that this was an anthology. Again, hence the prior statement. I was SO invested in the first story of Sir and Jack that I was angry when it ended. So, lesson here is READ the summary that is provided.

I personally do not care for anthologies. They seem to break one's attention that they have come to expect when reading a book. However, there were a few amazing stories in this book. Also, there were several hot ass sex scenes that left one's imagination all a flutter. There was strippers, BDSM, back room sex scenes, a lot that would please several readers.

One story being the story of "Jack". A college man drawn into a world where he needs money so he will do anything for the dollar. He responds to an ad in the paper where someone is looking for a model. Now, first thought in my mind is porn, or someone looking for straight bait. However, what he find is something totally different. There is a man that is hurting on the inside, trying to deal with the loss of his Jack and that is why Sir calls him Jack. I would really love to see more of this one. Hopefully, a full novel as there was so much left unknown.

Second, being the story of Holmes and the fact that he and his nemesis both liking the company of men. Yes the scene was nice, however I laughed the entire time as I imagined him smoking a pipe while the man that was sent to kill Holmes gave us a strip tease.

Overall a very quick read with several possibilities of full novels. Great job, and my view on anthologies might have changed a little.

Thanks for the ARC!
