The Garde are finally reunited, but do they have what it takes to win the war against the Mogadorians?
John Smith—Number Four—thought that things would change once the Garde found each other. They would stop running. They would fight the Mogadorians. And they would win.
But he was wrong. After facing off with the Mogadorian ruler and almost being annihilated, the Garde know they are drastically unprepared and hopelessly outgunned. Now they’re hiding out in Nine’s Chicago penthouse, trying to figure out their next move.
The six of them are powerful, but they’re not strong enough yet to take on an entire army—even with the return of an old ally. To defeat their enemy, the Garde must master their Legacies and learn to work together as a team. More importantly, they’ll have to discover the truth about the Elders and their plan for the Loric survivors.
And when the Garde receive a sign from Number Five—a crop circle in the shape of a Loric symbol—they know they are so close to being reunited. But could it be a trap? Time is running out, and the only thing they know for certain is that they have to get to Five before it’s too late.
The Garde may have lost battles, but they will not lose this war.
Lorien will rise again
I AM SO PISSED!!! HOW AND THE HELL CAN THE BOOK END LIKE THIS!!!!!!
Now that I have vented, I will talk about this book.
I knew from the beginning that Five was a prick. Someone that could not be trusted. Gah! With the powers that he had, I believe that there would be a distinctive advantage for the Garde.
So, all remaining Garde members are together in Nine's house. Sam and his father returns. They learn a great secret about the Garde's chess. John and Sara just about have a sex scene. All is well in the plot to defeat the Mogs.
Then a mysterious crop circle appear, it seems that Five now wants to be found. The first clue that I had was the limited Mog resistance that was shown when Six and Four go to get him. Odd? Every other time that there has been a member of the Garde that has been found, the Mogs attack with a fervor that is almost overwhelming.
Then there is Ella. The girl, who I thought of as Ten is mysterious. Plagued by nightmares where the leader of the Mogs make it known that he wants her. We see a dream at the latter part of the book that shows us a glimpse.
GAH! and Adam shows up at the very end of the book. Reading the Ebook, I got lost, thinking that I was not close to the end and then BAM! It was OVER!!!!
The only complaint that I have about this book, is the ever changing POV's. There is no warning and sometimes, I had to pause to think about whick person was speaking. It Four, no Sam, No Four, No Marina, No it's I don't know.
Here are some cool little pics I found.
Also, one of the Garde dies. SPOILER! Sorry.
Love ya all.
Quotes:
“That was awesome!” Nine hollers.”
“Look,” Six snaps, “we can’t just stand around gabbing. They could be co—”
Six is cut off by the sudden roar of a noise overhead. It’s a sound made by no earthly machinery. We all look up just as the silver Mogadorian ship throws on its floodlights, momentarily blinding us. Five, shielding his eyes, turns to look at me.
“Is that your ship?” he asks.
“Mogadorians!” I shout at him. Already, dark shapes are descending from the ship, the first wave of Mogadorian warriors on their way to attack.
“Oh,” says Five, blinking confusedly at the ship. “So that’s what they look like.”
